Try a DIY Craft Pizza Recipe with Fresh Farmview Ingredients!


Spring has officially sprung! This time of year, there are enough events and activities to turn us all into busy bees. We know that some days, you don't have a lot of time or effort to devote to preparing a complicated meal. Luckily, we have just the thing!

At Farmview Market, we have a large assortment of fresh farm-to-table ingredients that are certain to please your family or dinner guests. Why don't you ditch the delivery this week and create one of these simple, craft pizzas? You'll be enjoying your own specialty pie in no time!

Pizza dough


  • 4 cups bread flour

  • 1 tsp. sugar

  • 1 small packet instant dry yeast

  • 2 tsp. kosher salt

  • 1 ½ cups warm water

  • 2 tbsp. plus 2 tsp. extra virgin olive oil 


Combine flour, sugar, extra virgin olive oil and yeast in a mixing bowl.

Add warm water and mix. Add salt and continue mixing until dough forms a smooth ball.

Place dough in a greased mixing bowl. Cover and proof about an hour or until the dough doubles in size.

Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface and divide into 2 balls, and let rest 10 minutes.

Roll 1 ball out with a lightly floured rolling pin.

Red Pizza Sauce


  • 1 can (28 oz.) peeled whole tomatoes in juice

  • ½ small sweet onion, finely diced

  • 4-6 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced

  • 2 oz. capers, drained

  • 2 oz. bacon, pancetta, smoked pork product-jowl, hock

  • 1 tbsp. sugar

  • 1 tsp. salt and pepper

  • 1 tbsp. dried basil, parsley and oregano, minced


Render pork over medium heat to release fat. Add onions and capers and sauté for 3-5 minutes until onion is translucent.

Remove pork and add garlic. Sauté for another 2 minutes.

Add tomatoes and herbs and simmer 30 minutes on low heat.

Puree, cool and store.

White Pizza Sauce


  • 2 tbsp. butter

  • 3 tbsp. flour

  • 1 cup milk

  • ¼ tsp. salt

  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

  • 1 garlic clove

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese


Melt butter and whisk in flour until smooth.

Stir in milk and simmer until it thickens.

Add cheese and salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly and let cool.

Too cook your DIY craft pizza, preheat your oven to 400 degrees and bake 8-12 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is browned.
