Just Three Simple Ingredients

Blackberry Patch was founded by Georgia farmers over 40 years ago, with a mission to make old-fashioned, homemade preserves with fruit they grew themselves and the smallest ingredient list possible. Adding only cane sugar and lemon juice, the popularity of their delicious preserves grew steadily until they had a thriving small business focusing on seasonal flavors and handmade jellies and jams—made with just three simple ingredients. Today, Blackberry Patch uses the same all-natural recipes to make delicious fruit syrups, toppings and salsas as well.

This commitment to making small-batch, handmade products is what drew Randy Harvey and Harry T. Jones to purchase Blackberry Patch in 1999. The two are food industry veterans who wanted to invest their time and expertise in a business dedicated to regional flavors, community involvement, and environmental sustainability. Inspired by the charming town of Thomasville, Georgia where Blackberry Patch originated, the pair grew the company from a small preserves’ producer to a thriving gourmet foods business with both staple and seasonal products.

Blackberry Patch features seven “Three Simple Ingredients” of both preserves and syrups. Each is made with non-GMO fruit, cane sugar, lemon juice and nothing else. These old-fashioned preserves and syrups allow the fruit to shine through, and can add a homespun flavor to fancier recipes or an upgrade to your classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

"Made with non-GMO fruit, cane sugar, lemon juice and nothing else."

Other flavors of Blackberry Patch preserves get more creative with ingredients like herbs, nuts, spices and liquors. Customers love the Amaretto Peach Pecan, the Peach Bourbon Cardamom, and the Blueberry Lemon Thyme Preserves. All of these preserves pair elegantly with cheese and crackers or can be used to add a delectable twist on both meats and desserts. The Blackberry Patch Syrups are perfect on a stack of pancakes, as a drizzle for pound cake, or even to add a sweet note in a salad vinaigrette. Try the Satsuma Syrup as a glaze for ham, the Cherry Syrup in a Tart Cherry Coke Float, and the Bunch O Berries Jam as a trifle layer.

Blackberry Patch’s memorable preserves and condiments have earned them recognition all over the country, with mentions in Southern Living, Garden & Gun, and Food and Wine. Recently, Taste of the South highlighted them as being one of the “South’s Best Food Gifts” with their unique flavor combinations and charming packaging.

Even with the runaway success of their company, owners Harvey and Jones keep their feet planted firmly in the soil of Thomasville, Georgia where Blackberry Patch originated. The philanthropic owners are committed to donating a portion of profits to organizations that fight hunger in their community and provide clean drinking water locally and globally.
