Prime Rib Roast

1 12-14lb Farmview Market Prime Rib Roast (Ribs can be left on or off the bone. Flavor and tenderness with bone-in is preferred and is easily removed after roasting.)

3/4 cup Braswell’s Honey Dijon Mustard

2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

2 tsp kosher salt

1 tsp onion powder

2 tsp granulated garlic

1/4 tsp celery seed

1 tsp fresh oregano, chopped fine (or 1/4 tsp dried)

1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped fine (or 1/4 tsp dried)

1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped fine (or 1/4 tsp dried)


  • Remove prime rib roast from refrigerator about 2 hours before roasting to bring to room temperature.
  • Preheat oven to 425F. Line roasting pan with foil.
  • Combine all seasonings together to create a rub. Evenly apply rub to rib roast.
  • Bake the roast for 20 minutes at 425F, then reduce oven temperature to 325F and continue roasting for approximately 4 hours until internal temperature reaches 120F for medium rare or 130F for medium.
  • Remove from oven and let rest 30 minutes before removing the bone and serving.
