NY Strip Steak (serves 4)
NY Strip Steaks (1 inch thick each)
Heavily season one side of each steak with your favorite steak seasonings. Let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Place 2 Tbsp canola oil in a large (12”) skillet and heat on medium high heat.
Once the oil is hot, place 2 steaks, seasoned side down, into the hot oil. Let cook, untouched for 3 – 4 minutes for a medium rare steak. (Add an additional minute for a medium steak).
Turn steak over and cook an additional 3 – 4 minutes (Add an additional minute for medium steak).
Remove steaks from skillet and repeat procedure with the other 2 steaks.
Place steaks on cutting board and top each steak with your choice of finishing salt and/or herbed butter disks.
Let steaks rest 2 – 3 minutes before slicing.
