Seasonal Weekly Farmers Market: Now Open

We’re so excited to be kicking off the second year with our open-air, weekly farmers market in scenic Madison, Georgia. Every farmers market may seem to be similar on the surface, but we’ve found that each market has its own distinct heartbeat. What makes a farmers market truly unique are the various farmers and artisan craftsmen that you can meet, in addition to the different local products that can be found. The fresher and more local your offerings are, the better.

At Farmview Market, we’re proud to source foods and handmade artisan items that are made by the local vendors who are there selling them. These are direct farm products, grown and handmade by the people you are meeting each week! Here’s a general guide to the weekly farmers market, including many of our repeat vendors who we see almost every Saturday!

Double L Ranch

Double L Ranch is one of our longest vendors and suppliers when it comes to the farmers market. They’ve been with us since week 1! Not only do they provide farm fresh produce and eggs from Gordon, but Lori (owner) also partners with us in our Farmview Schoolhouse to educate consumers in various workshops, including an upcoming class on preparing nutritious farm-to-table meals. Lori has also mastered the art of making delicious homemade jams with more fruit and less sugar. Our favorites include her Peach Ginger jam and Pepper Jelly.

Lovin Farm Produce

Located in Greensboro, Lovin Farm is a large supplier of various produce at our farmers market. He grows a variety of crops throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons, including tomatoes, onions, collards, cabbage, broccoli, squash, cucumbers, corn and eggplant. Look forward to being able to shop these incredibly fresh produce offerings once they are ready to harvest!

Tapestry Greenhouse

Tapestry Greenhouse is also located nearby, right in Madison. Tapestry offers a variety of live plants, primarily herbs and plants for pollinators. They have also partnered with us for Farmview Schoolhouse . Chris (at Tapestry) shared her knowledge and experience with bees in a recent workshop to educate guests on beekeeping and pollinators.

Hundred Acre Farm

Hundred Acre Farm is a beautiful estate located in Madison, and was featured as one of our Farmer Profiles last year. The property is a popular wedding venue with its very own rustic Farmhouse Inn, but the rest of the farmland is vast with garden plantings, exotic chickens and goats. Some of the delicious produce from the farm is brought to our farmers market each week by Crystal and Ellis.

C.J. Orchards

This local produce vendor, out of Rutledge, sells peaches, blueberries, tomatoes and produces pecans in the fall. Our supplier with C.J. Orchards attends the market seasonally, mid-late summer depending on harvest times.

NK Vintage

NK Vintage is named for its owner Nina Kalawsky, who happens to be a resident of Madison. Her beautiful handmade aprons and potholders are a market favorite. Her products can also be purchased in the Farmview grocery.

Infinity and More

This artisan from Rutledge creates beautiful aprons, jewelry and scarves, perfect gifts for any lady in your life or as staples in your closet.

Gooch’s Hollow Woodworks

A true farmers market wouldn’t be complete without unique, handmade wood crafts! Local artisan and owner, Calvin Gooch, Gooch’s Hollow makes handmade wooden birdhouses, wooden signs and more. Make sure you stop by to see what unique pieces they have each week.

Creation by Knox

Another fantastic vendor and wood craft creator is local Creation by Knox. Sign your important documents in style with one of their handcrafted wooden pens, found at the Farmers Market at Farmview!

Magnolia Street Soaping

Stop by the Magnolia Street booth to take in the scents of some amazing local artisan soaps. Each bar of soap is handmade with love in nearby Eatonton. You’ll also enjoy their lip balms, face serum and laundry detergent. Lather up, and enjoy all natural beauty!

Little Rabbit’s Arts & Crafts

Little Rabbit’s is another market vendor who has been very involved with our weekly farmers market since we opened. At this booth, you can find whimsical and delightful handmade items like thoughtfully designed notecards and stationery, and hand-sewn zipper pouches, dog bandanas, and fabric bins with numerous handy household uses!

CCG (Country Cabin Gardens) Produce

This family-owned farm got its start in 2007, when the Dodd family moved to Madison, Georgia. CCG Produce cultivates bushels of luscious strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. They also offer a “Pick Your Own Berries” business, which has really flourished. The best part is that our market is so close to CCG Produce that they can pick the strawberries right off the vine one morning, and have it on the shelves at Farmview the same afternoon. So make sure you stop by to purchase some of the freshest farm-to-table berries our area has to offer.

Colbert Confectionery

If you come to the farmers market looking for a unique flavor, you won’t want to leave without stopping at the Colbert Confectionery table! Located in Colbert, this vendor is popular for making fine handmade chocolates using a traditional family recipe. But what they are known for at our market is their tangy, yet delectable vinegar. Each of their vinegar recipes are made from scratch, are flavored using seasonal herbs and fruits, and begin from a batch of southern sweet tea.It is great for marinating meat, cooking, or using on salads.

These are just a handful of the many local farms and brands you can find at the weekly farmers market at Farmview. We would love to have you for a visit on Saturdays from 9-1 while we’re enjoying the beautiful weather and sampling some of these delicious products. Come see us soon!
