Did you know that Georgia is home to over 600,000 small businesses? That number has skyrocketed in the past five years, as consumers see the importance of becoming a patron of local businesses.

The success of small businesses depends on the direct participation of every consumer and local shopper. To honor these small businesses, Farmview Market will take part in and celebrate Small Business Saturday, on November 26th.

This day has become a very special day for our local business owners. Small Business Saturday is a chance for everyone to experience the awesome variety of local businesses. Did you know that this day was originally created with the help of American Express?

The credit card giant wanted to expand their consumers’ knowledge of small businesses, as well as to create an environment that promotes people opening their own businesses. They chose Saturday because, well, that’s when most people shop. The day was officially recognized by the United States Senate, who unanimously voted in favor of the day.

So, now that you know a bit of the history behind Small Business Saturday, how can you participate? Well, that’s the easy part. All you have to do is visit Farmview! Within our market, you can find a plethora of small businesses from across Georgia and beyond.

Revere hails from Atlanta, Georgia and specializes in local and organic meats and seafood. Or, if you’re in need of some organic beauty products, hit up Cheeky Maiden! Cheeky Maiden is another Georgia native and her line of organic soaps will please everyone in your family.

If you’re hungry, browse the rows and rows of locally grown goodies in our marketplace. Be sure to try Kyvan Salsa. Kyvan was founded by NFL Pro Reggie Kelly and his wife Shelia and they’re a member of Georgia Grown.

Proper Pepper Pimento CheeseSpeaking of Georgia Grown, pick up another Georgia Grown alum Harrison Family Farm. We’re mad about their gourmet balsamic vinaigrettes and Eudora chow-chow. Try Harrison's pear relish atop Proper Pepper's pimento cheese. It's a revelation!

Got a sweet tooth? Grab a cake from Jessicakes, in our Farmview bakery. Jessicakes are always light, fluffy, and delicious and her cake flavors are seasonal.  Or, head to the freezer for High Road Ice Cream and Sorbet. Talk about flavors! Each ice cream is made by hand, by professional chefs, so the flavor combinations are out of this world.

And, that's just to name a few! Farmview is home to over 100 local, small businesses under our roof and Small Business Saturday is the perfect time to try them all.
