In early 2009, five farmers in Southeast Georgia gathered with the dream of resurrecting olive oil production in Georgia and the Southeast U.S. Three years later, Georgia Olive Farms produced their first commercial crop of olives from groves near Lakeland, Georgia. It was the first time olives had been harvested east of the Mississippi since the 1800s. Today, Georgia Olive Farms oil is a true American made Extra Virgin Olive Oil. From field to mill in less than 24 hours, their EVOO is collected from only the first pressing of the fruit.
