Make Easter Dinner Easy at Farmview Market

Share

easter dinnerOn Sunday, April 16th families will come together to celebrate Easter. This holiday of renewal brings spring flowers, an end to Lent, and Easter dinner. Here in the South, it’s a tradition to serve ham for Easter dinner. This is probably due to the fact that ham was once the only meat available during the lean winter months. But, enough history! Let’s talk ham.

Did you know that you should pre-order your holiday hams at least four weeks in advance? That way, you can be assured that your ham is properly cured before you serve it for Easter dinner. Then, you’ll need at least two roasting pans and a whole lot of patience because cooking your own ham in an oven can take up to 40 minutes per pound! It can be quite a daunting challenge.
