Do you have an interest in learning how to make beautiful arrangements for your home? Or maybe you’ve always yearned to make your own sausage. Perhaps you’ve secretly harbored a wish to learn to knit or quilt or add healthy recipes to your family favorites.

Whatever that desired new skill or educational dream might be, Farmview Schoolhouse is interested in helping you learn, grow and flourish in 2017!

Farmview Schoolhouse is the newest feature of Farmview Market, which is a farm-to-family operation that focuses on selling locally grown products and generating value for local and regional farmers and Georgia Grown products.

Educational offerings at the Schoolhouse include classes in wellness, nutrition, hobby farming, homesteading, cooking, gardening, food growing, harvesting, canning, and preserving.

Classes began Fall 2016, where our students gained experience in areas, such as, creating simple, delicious low-fat, no-salt meals from locally sourced products, as well as gained an insider’s view into the Farmview Grist Mill, which is used to mill grits and cornmeal with heirloom corn on site, and more.

In December, Farmview Schoolhouse hosted “Make it Beautiful: A Holiday Make & Take Arrangement Workshop.” Local artist Jill Connolly led participants through the process of making their very own holiday table arrangement, and everyone left with a beautiful display of seasonal and local greenery for adding a festive, elegant touch to their home.

January and February are filling up with classes like learning to prune your trees and shrubs, eating for health, a DIY foaming soap-making class, sausage-making and raised bed gardening.

We also have monthly lecture series and lunch & learn sessions in the works, and new classes are being added regularly. Now we need YOU!
