Cook Your Own Glazed Ham this Season!

We hope you're decking the halls and making things merry and bright, because Christmas is less than TEN DAYS away! It is crunch time, and we know you've been running crazy errands and making endless shopping trips.

Maybe this post will help you check one thing off your list. We have provided our own recipe for a glaze you can use for a honey baked hack.

This simple recipe with a zesty apricot glaze is sure to make your ham the centerpiece of the holiday feast this season!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. fresh ginger, minced

  • 1 tbsp. fresh garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp. blended oil

  • 3/4  cup apricot marmalade

  • 1/4 cup molasses

  • 1/2  cup Dijon mustard

  • 1 orange, zest and juice, reserve separately

  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves

  • 1/2 tsp. fresh black pepper

Directions for glaze

Heat a sauce pan over low-medium heat. Add oil.

When pan is warm, add ginger and garlic and sauté 3-5 minutes to wake the flavors.

Add half of the reserved orange juice to the pan in order to loosen any bits of garlic and ginger that could be stuck to the pan.

Add apricot marmalade, molasses, and Dijon mustard and mix thoroughly and continue to heat on low heat for 12-15 minutes.

Remove from heat and add ground cloves, black pepper and orange zest.

Let cool slightly and puree in food processor until smooth, using reserved orange juice to adjust consistency if necessary.

Then prepare and glaze your ham, and cook as directed.
